John “Skip” Trimble, Senior Consultant

Skip Trimble is the principal of Chase Creek Consulting with over 26 years of diversified experience in the electric industry. While most of his experience has been hands-on commercial applications in the wholesale, retail and asset management areas, he has also served in the regulated arena in planning, operations, engineering, rates, IT and bulk power marketing. His major consulting assignments have focused on the areas of: product development (emissions credit for wind mills); project management (project manager of a Distributed Generation project for DOE); training (TVA’s Introduction Electricity, Marketing and Trading ); and systems development.

• Vice President Power Marketing and Asset Management, Statoil Energy: developed Statoil’s power trading, retail marketing and asset management group (from scratch to $2 Billion in revenue) including putting all systems together. Asset Management position worked with partner Calpine and included generation units in New York, Pennsylvania and Delaware.
• Director - East Coast Power Marketing, Coastal Corporation: developed Coastal’s east coast power marketing group specializing in options.
• PP&L: various positions including - operations, planning, IT and bulk power marketing. Developed real time pricing system, r54esponsible for generation unit costing and handled the NUG agreements.
• NiMo: various positions including engineering, cost of service studies and rate design.
